Centre Ville Rive Gauche

Unlike its Right Bank counterpart, which extends vertically down toward the lake and river from the main train station, Cornavin, the Centre Ville Rive Gauche is aligned horizontally with the Rhône and comprises Quai du Général Guisan and the Rues Basses shopping area. Both parts of downtown Geneva—Rive Droite and Rive Gauche—are business, shopping, and to some extent residential areas. Geneva's equivalent to 5th Avenue, or Rodeo Drive, is the Left Bank's Rue du Rhône.
